Bartabas signs a " Manifeste pour la vie d'artiste " and invites 12 personalities to speak about it by his side. Far from the idea of Bohemia, this Manifesto for artist's life bases on the strong idea of the artistic commitment. It reveals how and to what extent the dedication of an artist to its work can modify its way of life, its daily life, its private life. This artistic commitment at the same time physical and spiritual implies an ethics on a daily basis, an investment without concession. This artistic commitment influences the lifestyles of the artists and their production, each in their own way.

For the third opus of Cabaret de l'exil, Bartabas pays tribute to Persian women. Whether Afghan or Iranian, they too are artists in exile. Resilient and rebellious, they assert their identity and invoke ancestral memories, those of the ancient Scythian civilisation based on matriarchy. Among this nomadic people, the horse was a source of remarkable gender equality; travelling long distances on horseback and encouraging their mounts into battle was as much the prerogative of women as it was of men, as was the practice of the arts.
